How do you play on a cracked server??

I got a copy of battlefield 1942 from supernova site, How do you play on cracked servers? I try joinging a game but it says wrong version. I updated it but the number in the corner on the main menu still says 1.4, but when i try to install a different patch it says i have 1.6 installed.

U gotta get the 1.61b patch. That patch got me a little bit closer to finally been abel to play online... But I still have a heapload of troubles
